FAQ
What type of wax is used?
I use only clean-burning, all-natural Coconut Soy Wax.
What is used for fragrance in all of the products?
I use only high-quality, high-end fragrance oils. They smell exactly as they are described. The fragrance oils allow for your candle to give off a wonderful cold throw (when the candle is not burning) and hot throw (when the candle is burning). My customers tell me they don’t even need to light my candles depending on where they are placed, as they love the level of fragrance output without lighting.
Why don’t I use Essential Oil?
While many candle makers choose to use essential oils, it is just my preference based on my research. Essential oils increase the risk of fire and can cause uneven burning or even explosion when added to candles. Essential oils can alter the chemistry of the wax, making it more prone to melting at lower temperatures and releasing toxic fumes.
How long should my candle burn?
Coconut soy is known to burn longer than 100% soy waxes due to the firmness of the coconut. Rather than burning 4 to 6 hours per ounce, they should burn 6 to 8 hours per ounce. Please keep in mind that room temperatures, drafts, and other outside elements can affect the burning time.
What is special about Wood Wicks?
I use wood wicks in most of my candles. Most wood wicks are made with pine or maple woods. The fibrous texture from the wood, when burning, creates the crackling effect. When they burn, they offer a very relaxing ambiance similar to the sound of a crackling wood fire. It is a soft crackle.
Why isn’t my crackling wood wick creating a full flame?
Wood wick candles will vary in burn profile and consistency. Due to the nature of the raw wood material, no two wood wicks are exactly the same. This may cause variations in how they burn.
To ensure an even burn:
- Light the wick across the candle as opposed to at only one end.
- Let the candle burn until the wax melts out to the edges of the container.
- Follow Care Card Instructions for best results.
Even if the flame appears to burn low at times, it will still give you a wonderful fragrance throughout your room.
